What is a crown?
A dental crown is usually needed to restore a tooth, protect a weak tooth from fracturing, covering a badly shaped/discolored tooth, or covering a dental implant.
Crowns are made of several types of materials including metal alloys, ceramics, porcelain, composite resin, or combinations of these materials. In the process of producing the crown, the material is often colored to blend with the patient’s natural teeth.
